Hospice Director (RN)

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Serve on various applicable Board Committees.
• Handle confidential information appropriately.
• Participate in short/long range planning for agency and implementation of specific measures for agency growth, remaining within budgetary guidelines.
• Investigate and resolve complaints (patient, family, staff, departmental).
• Consult with managers and staff appropriately and in a timely fashion concerning areas of deficiency as well as areas of excellence.
• Responsible for all aspects of department staff.  
• Assist in development of new policies and job standards as needed; reviews and updates current job standards annually.
• Provide consultation and education for healthcare providers and participate in appropriate professional related organizations.
• Assist with community relations and community educational opportunities.
• Understands and adheres to organizational compliance and privacy programs.
• Assists in providing service that fosters the organization’s mission, values, vision and goals.
• Performs other duties as required and/or requested by management.

Qualifications:

• Degree in health care related field.
• Registered nurse currently licensed in the State of Texas preferred.
• Two years experience in home health and/or hospice preferred.
• Two years supervisory experience in Federal/State regulations governing home health/hospice licensure preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to travel to multi-work locations during workday.
• PC experience required.
• Reliable vehicle, valid Texas Driver’s License and Liability insurance.
