Job Description

The Line Cook, Prep Cook, Porter, Expeditor, Dishwasher is expected to display passion and hospitality daily and pursue the perfect dining experience for all of our guests. All culinary team members are actively responsible for ensuring the timely service of food to our guests by ensuring proper planning of each shift, high levels of communication, proper execution of systems, cleanliness and organization and having a strong presence in the kitchen at all times.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Able to work all shifts including, AM's, PM's, weekends, and holidays

Able to stand continuously for an entire shift and move within the restaurant

Fluent in English

Communicates clearly and concisely with team members

Maintains a basic knowledge of food handling safety

Maintains a basic knowledge of kitchen safety

Maintains a basic knowledge of meat temperatures and cooking methods

Able to prioritize, organize and follow-up

Able to follow directions and instructions with minimal supervision

Able to maintain a calm demeanor in a high volume environment

Able to multitask in a high volume environment

Able to learn and maintain sufficient food and menu knowledge

Able to maintain, train and share service knowledge

Able to maintain a clean working environment

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for handling, labeling, dating, rotating and storing products properly

Responsible for maintaining accuracy and speed in all aspects of food preparation

Responsible for team service by helping fellow kitchen team members whenever possible

Responsible for handling kitchen equipment, tools and smallwares safely to prevent breakage

Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all food surfaces at all times

Maintains a clean, organized and above health department-ready environment at all times

Maintains portion control and minimizes food waste

Ensures dietary restrictions and nutritional standards are met with every order

Represents CHG in a professional manner at all times through attentiveness, attire and attitude

Train new kitchen team members on duties, policies and procedures

Securely close the restaurant by ensuring cleanliness, safety and preparation for next service

Physical Demands

Required to bend, stretch, twist, climb and have a high level of mobility/flexibility in small spaces

Required to stand and walk for extensive periods of time without breaks during busy times

Required to be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds without assistance

Required to be able to handle hot and cold work conditions during food preparation and service
