This position supports the development, installation, and maintenance of airport automated baggage handling equipment. Further, this position processes and implements continuous improvement activities and resolves equipment performance issues. This specialized technical class repairs and maintains computer-controlled systems and robotic devices used within airport baggage handling systems, reducing human intervention and maximizing efficiency. In addition to baggage handling, this position may occasionally work with other assets and work groups including, but not limited to, Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Electrical Distribution Control Systems (EDCS) on a case-by-case basis as needed.       MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience:   Associate's degree or equivalent formal training in Industrial Automation Technology, Electrical/Mechanical or Electronics and four years full-time experience in maintaining and troubleshooting industrial or similar large scale automated equipment.

This position performs journey-level installation, repair, maintenance, and remodeling of electrical and electronic equipment and facilities and street lighting systems on a variety of Department of Aviation locations. Further, this position ensures that electrical power is available for facilities on an emergency basis. This recruitment will be used to hire for various areas within the Facilities division including, but not limited to, Electrical, Airport Equipment Systems (AES), and Baggage Handling System (BHS).          MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience:   Equivalent to graduation from high school AND six (6) years of skilled experience in the electrical trade. Successful completion of a recognized apprenticeship as an electrician may be substituted for four (4) years of the required experience. Attendance at a recognized trade school is desirable, as is experience with electronic controls and experience in an industrial or plant setting.

This position coordinates and administers ramp control and gate management throughout the geographic boundaries of the airport non-movement area on a per shift basis. Further, this position functions as the focal point for safe, efficient, and expeditious movement of aircraft ingress and egress within the confines of the airport non-movement area. Individuals in this position will operate as liaison between the airport operations staff, tenants, and the Federal Aviation Administration Airport Traffic Control Tower for administering flow management, staging of departing aircraft, and strategic gate management for arriving aircraft.         MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience:   Two (2) years of full-time journey-level air traffic controller experience in an airport traffic control facility tower commensurate with a large commercial or large military airport OR five (5) years of aviation emergency radio dispatch or ramp control experience in an airport operations environment or FAA flight service station. Completion of an ATI certification from a certified university may be substituted for two (2) years full-time journey-level experience. Possession of a Control Tower Operator (CTO) certificate is desirable.

This position performs journey-level work in the installation, maintenance and repair of highly complex luggage movement systems, jetways, commercial overhead doors, vehicle gates, automatic doors and triturators throughout the Department of Aviation airport system. Further, this position performs mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and problem diagnosis. This recruitment will be used to fill positions in both Airport Equipment Systems (AES) and Baggage Handling System (BHS) Shops.         MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience:   Equivalent to graduation from high school and equivalent to successful completion of a recognized apprenticeship in an electrical or mechanical trade and one year of full-time skilled experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of building electrical and mechanical operating systems and facilities described above. Additional experience as outlined above may be substituted for an apprenticeship program on a year-for year basis.
